WELCOME TO THE GLADWIN COUNTY ROAD COMMISSION

The Gladwin County Road Commission is a state funded operation that is responsible for routine maintenance of county public roads and state highways in the Gladwin County area. Our workforce are trained professionals in snow plowing, gravel road blading, improving drainage, pothole patching and roadside mowing. Along with general maintenance, we look over and repair bridges, signs, pavement markings, equipment, and storage facilities for Gladwin County.

We also operate within our own revenue sources and budget – helping save on spending and efficiently providing safe and traversable roads for the public.

The Gladwin County Road Commission had 3 elected commissioners, and the road commission board is a separate entity from general county government. Revenue generated from our county-wide road and bridge millage is for necessary road and bridge improvements and is not for routine road and bridge maintenance. There is some public misconception that relates the taxes they pay for the road and bridge millage to our routine maintenance work.

This millage which was renewed in 2012 has generated revenues that are responsible for improvements to many miles of roads and numerous bridges and drainage structures within the county since 1968.
